Esports Odds: Live Comparison & How They Work

Last updated: July 2026 β€” written and fact-checked by the JustGamers team. 18+ | Gamble responsibly.

Every great bet starts with great odds. You can have a reputable bookmaker, wide game coverage and a generous welcome bonus, but in the end every wager comes down to numbers and probability β€” and none of it matters without fair esports odds. Odds are the foundation of your bets and the single thing that decides whether you win in the long run.

This page does two jobs: our live odds table lets you compare esports odds across top bookmakers in real time, and the guide below explains exactly how esports betting odds work β€” the three formats, implied probability, live odds and how to find value. Whether you’re a rookie or a grizzled veteran, this is your home for reading the numbers.

In a hurry? Odds show how much a bet pays and imply how likely an outcome is. The same match is priced differently at each bookmaker, so line-shopping β€” comparing odds before you bet β€” is the easiest edge there is. Use the live table below, then pick your site from our best esports betting sites. 18+.

What are esports odds and how do they work?

The best way to understand odds is to see them as a reflection of probability. Rather than dealing in percentages, esports betting odds show how much you stand to win by backing a particular outcome β€” more convenient for betting. As a rule of thumb, the more likely an outcome, the smaller the return, and vice versa.

Say there’s a CS2 match between Team Vitality and Team Spirit. Both can win, but if Vitality are overwhelming favourites, bookmakers offer short (low) odds on them and longer (higher) odds on Spirit. How do they decide? Mostly statistical analysis β€” recent form, head-to-head records, roster changes, map pools, patch impact and kill/death ratios, sometimes even roster rumours and news.

One thing to remember: bookmakers build a margin (also called the overround or “vig”) into their prices, so the implied probabilities of a market add up to more than 100%. That margin is the bookmaker’s edge β€” and it’s exactly why comparing odds between sites matters so much.

Esports odds formats explained: decimal, fractional & moneyline

All odds can be shown in three formats. The only difference is how the numbers are displayed β€” the underlying probability is identical. Most bookmakers let you switch between them in settings, so pick whichever you read most easily.

Decimal odds (Europe)

The most common format worldwide and the easiest to calculate β€” the number already includes your stake. Multiply your stake by the decimal to get your total return. Example: a €20 bet at 2.25 returns €45 (€25 profit + your €20 stake).

Fractional odds (UK)

Traditional in the UK. The left number is what you win, the right is what you stake. Example: at 5/1, a Β£20 bet returns Β£120 (Β£100 profit + Β£20 stake). At 1/5, you’d stake Β£5 to win Β£1.

Moneyline / American odds (USA)

Shown as positive or negative. +200 means a 100 stake wins 200 profit; -200 means you stake 200 to win 100. Positive = underdog, negative = favourite.

Odds formats & implied probability at a glance

Here’s the same set of prices in all three formats, with the implied probability and the return on a 10-unit stake:

Decimal Fractional Moneyline Implied probability Return on 10
1.50 1/2 -200 66.7% 15
1.90 9/10 -111 52.6% 19
2.00 1/1 (evens) +100 50.0% 20
2.50 3/2 +150 40.0% 25
3.50 5/2 +250 28.6% 35
6.00 5/1 +500 16.7% 60

Implied probability and finding value

The real skill in betting is spotting value β€” odds that pay more than the true chance of the outcome. To do it, convert the odds into an implied probability and compare it with your own estimate:

  • Decimal: implied probability = 1 Γ· decimal odds. (2.50 β†’ 1 Γ· 2.50 = 40%.)
  • If you believe the real chance is higher than the implied probability, the bet has positive expected value (+EV) β€” the kind of edge sharp bettors chase.

Esports is fertile ground for value because your game knowledge can beat the model. If you know a roster change, a favourable map pool or a patch that suits an underdog before the market adjusts, you can find prices the bookmaker has mispriced.

Esports live (in-play) odds

Live odds move constantly as the match unfolds, and they behave differently by game:

Game type How live odds move
CS2 & Valorant (round-based) Prices reset sharply after pistol rounds, side switches and economy resets β€” a team on a force-buy after losing the pistol is readable, and the line should reflect it.
LoL & Dota 2 (gold-lead) Advantages compound without resets, so the live line drifts steadily once one team builds a lead. A Roshan kill or a five-man wipe moves the price faster than almost any other event.

To bet live well you need foresight β€” player strengths, team identities and the current meta. A bookmaker that freezes its in-play markets during peak tournament traffic makes them unusable at exactly the moment they matter, which is one of the things we check when we rank the best esports betting sites.

How to find the best esports odds

Odds on the same match can vary by 5–7% between bookmakers. Over a run of bets, that margin is the difference between breaking even and turning a profit. Two habits make the difference:

  1. Compare before every bet. Use the live odds table on this page to see who’s pricing your match best right now.
  2. Don’t settle for one book. Hold accounts at several licensed sites so you can always take the top price. Pinnacle is famous for the sharpest, lowest-margin odds; others win on specific games or live markets.

Odds, welcome bonuses and wagering

Odds also shape how bonuses pay out. Many welcome offers and free bets require you to place qualifying bets at a minimum odds (often 1.50 or higher) before winnings can be withdrawn, and some exclude short-priced favourites entirely. Always read the small print: if a deal looks too good to be true, it usually is. Compare fair offers on our best sites list, and if you bet with crypto see our crypto betting guide.

Bet responsibly (18+). Odds are probabilities, not guarantees. Only stake what you can afford to lose, set a deposit limit before you start, and never chase losses. Free confidential support is available via BeGambleAware and GamCare.

Frequently asked questions

What are esports odds?

Esports odds show how much a bet pays and imply how likely an outcome is. Short (low) odds mean a favourite with a smaller return; long (high) odds mean an underdog with a bigger return. They come in decimal, fractional and moneyline formats.

How are esports betting odds calculated?

Bookmakers set odds using statistical analysis β€” recent form, head-to-head records, roster changes, map pools and patch impact β€” then add a margin (the overround). That’s why implied probabilities across a market add up to more than 100%.

How do I convert odds to a probability?

For decimal odds, divide 1 by the odds: 2.50 β†’ 1 Γ· 2.50 = 40%. If you think the true chance is higher than the implied probability, the bet has positive expected value (+EV).

Which esports betting site has the best odds?

Pinnacle is renowned for the lowest margins and sharpest prices, but the best odds for a given match vary by site. Compare live prices in the table above and across our recommended sites before betting.

Why do live esports odds change so fast?

In-play odds reprice after key moments. In CS2 and Valorant they reset around pistol rounds and side switches; in LoL and Dota 2 they drift as a gold lead compounds, moving fast on events like a Roshan kill or a team wipe.
