LCS 2022 Spring Week 5 Day 1

Results

  • Immortals | 0 – 1 | Evil Geniuses
  • TSM | 0 – 1 | FlyQuest
  • Team Liquid | 1 – 0 | 100 Thieves

  • Dignitas | 1 – 0 | Counter Logic Gaming

What happened:

Despite building a competitive roster, adding Kacper “Inspired” Sloma from Rogue and Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme from Cloud9, Evil Geniuses’ performance doesn’t seem optimal. The North American organisation started its week five journey with a win over Immortals but they still need better performances in the upcoming weeks. One of this year’s biggest surprises, FlyQuest, picked up an expected victory against TSM. TSM is one of the worst performers in the LCS 2022 Spring Split and they proved it once again in week 5.

Team Liquid’s rise continued with a strong win over 100 Thieves. Despite winning the competition last year, 100T needs to improve before playoffs if they want to repeat their success. With Can “Closer” Çelik in the lead, 100 Thieves may get scarier for other teams in the playoffs.

With Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami switching to mid lane, Cloud9’s new chemistry is on another level for sure. The North American team picked its fifth win in a row against Golden Guardians to stay in the leading seat. On the other hand, Golden Guardians’ playoff race will continue in the upcoming games. Lastly, Dignitas demolished Counter Logic Gaming in the closing game of the LCS 2022 Spring Week 5. Vincent “Biofrost” Wang picked up the MVP award thanks to his textbook performance.

Cloud9 picked up its sixth win over Evil Geniuses to stay at the top. EG, on the other hand, is on the same record with Golden Guardians and Dignitas but only two of these teams will compete in the playoffs. The playoff participants will be set in the next weeks.

FlyQuest grabbed an easy win over Dignitas to secure the third spot, right behind Team Liquid. FLY will come up against 100 Thieves next week and it will be a solid decider before the last two weeks of the LCS 2022 Spring Split Regular Season. Lastly, TSM picked up its second win of the season against Golden Guardians. It was an unexpected loss for Golden Guardians as the team is still in the playoff race. It is hard for TSM to participate in the playoffs but the team will upset many others in the upcoming weeks.
