Defi Kings announce plans to develop online gaming platform

Earlier this week, Defi Kings announced plans to develop an online gaming platform. The project confirmed that the upcoming forum would be released sometime in Q4 2022 and incorporate 3D NFTs.

A free-to-play title, “NFT Boxing Kings” is set to be the first game made available upon launch, and others will follow in the coming months.

On the platform, Defi Kings explained that creating earning opportunities for users was heavily considered, and players may own an NFT character for playing the game. Aside from this, they also plan to release unique and exclusive NFTs, among others, via add-ons to reel in users “at a rapid pace”.

“People love a good competition, and nearly 3 billion of them worldwide love gaming. By creating these opportunities built directly into the platform, we expect to onboard users at a rapid pace,” Defi Kings co-owner Chris Hughes said.

Preparing for its upcoming online gaming platform launch, Hughes said the team was aware of the online gaming industry, which is worth over $60 billion. He added that Defi Kings was keen to tap into the industry by engaging with games as well as users via the upcoming platform.

“Online gaming is a fast-growing industry exceeding $60 billion per year, with some projecting it to be as high as $130 billion by 2030. We will tap into that opportunity by creating engaging games and bringing people together from all over the world,” he said.

He added that Defi Kings would value its users, especially those who contribute to the platform.

“Revenue will be generated by offering custom 3D NFT characters that players can incorporate into the games, in-app add-ons, and ad space. As with all our products and services, the profits will be shared with our DFK token holders that stake in our King’s Ransom staking platform,” he continued.

Aside from individuals, the platform may also profit organizations and communities that “incorporate their communities into” the gaming platform. The Shiba Inu community, for example, is the first crypto community that Defi Kings has approached.

“As far as communities to reach, the Shiba Inu token community will be the first we target our marketing to,” said Hughes.

“They have one of the largest and most engaged communities I’ve ever seen in the crypto space, and I believe they will jump on the chance to come in and try to have their Shiba Inu beat our King. Who knows, Dogecoin has an amazing community as well. We may just have to try and bring them in with the Shiba Inu crowd and see what happens there.”

Another way for Defi Kings to engage with users is by providing players with in-game content releases. The project plans to roll in tournaments where players will be awarded based on the number of games won. Players also will be given a decent amount of freedom on the platform. Other than owning a 3D character NFT, players may customize their online avatar “via in-app purchase options or from rewards earned in the games”.

There is not much information available regarding Defi Kings’ upcoming online gaming platform, but the project said it has partnered with some of the gaming industry heavy hitters to help with future development.
