Tom Brady’s NFT platform Autograph announces SAW-themed NFT game

Tom Brady’s NFT platform, Autograph, has announced a Web3 game based on Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures’ popular horror film franchise, SAW. The game will launch on October 31 and will have three mini-games.

Mark Burg and Oren Koules, the producers of SAW, said they were excited about the opportunity to expand the franchise’s reach through the development of new interactive experiences. They also said the partnership with Lionsgate and Autograph would allow them to introduce the franchise to “a whole new audience.”

Lionsgate executive VP and head of global products and experiences Jenefer Brown also said that working with Autograph had given fans a new way to interact with the franchise.

“In bringing Internet Game on board as a partner for this next phase, we’re able to deepen engagement through gamified NFTs that allow fans to become a part of the SAW franchise in a new experience-driven way, and we’re looking forward to providing SAW enthusiasts with new touchpoints to the films,” Brown said.

Getting started with SAW Game Pass

Players must purchase a SAW Games Pass on GameStop NFT, Magic Eden and Internet Game to participate in the game.

After purchasing the SAW Game Pass, players can play Acid Bath, Blood Bucket and Incinerator. Each game will take place on different days. Only those located in the U.S. and Canada can play the game.

The first game will open on Monday, October 31. The second game is on Wednesday, November 2, and the last game is on Friday, November 4. Players’ performance will be tracked on the metadata of the Game Passes.

“Three games. Three traps. Dozens of prizes to die for. Will you come out alive? Play for your life in @saw Games starting October 31. Join the fearsome fun in SAW Games, produced by Autograph and Internet.Game @internet__game @lionsgate,” Autograph tweeted.

Players who win the top prizes can get an on-set tour of the next SAW film, a Mutant Ape NFT, a trip to the new SAW: The Experience in London, a Doodles NFT and more. One lucky player will even get their name to appear in the next SAW film.

Autograph also offers priority access for certain NFT holders. Players who have SAW Chapter 1 Key NFT will get a free SAW Games Pass, while holders of SAW Chapter 1 NFT will get a 25 percent discount for the game pass.

Autograph co-founder and CEO Dillon Rosenblatt said he was excited to continue partnering with Lionsgate. They were also happy to deepen their cooperation with Internet Game, GameStop and Magic Eden to give fans unique collectibles and “once-in-a-lifetime in-person experiences.”

“This collaboration, its mini-games, and the unique prizes will enrich horror fans’ experiences and bring multiple communities closer to their favorite film franchise in a new and exciting way,” Rosenblatt said.

The SAW franchise has been one of the most successful and longest-running horror franchises, earning more than $1 billion worldwide in box office revenues. Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures are working on the next SAW installment and plan to release the film theatrically on October 27, 2023.
