Hall of GOATs releases exclusive Caleb Williams NFT avatar

Hall of GOATs (HoG) is currently developing an arcade-style football game and has released its first limited-edition NFT drop in the form of a Caleb Williams avatar, available from December 13 at 10 a.m. PT to December 15, 2022.

The avatar was released to celebrate the player’s 2022 Heisman Trophy. 2004 Heisman Trophy winner and two-time National Champion quarterback Matt Leinart had previously predicted that this year’s Heisman Trophy would end up going to Williams.

Around 10,000 NFTs will be released, and fans will be able to purchase the exclusive Williams NFT avatar on hallofgoats.com at $30.00. Once purchased, players will get to play as Williams when the game is released. The first day of the sale is exclusive for Founder Pass holders, while the public can participate in the sale on the following days.

Those who own Williams NFT avatars will also have access to a series of fan benefits, such as exclusive merchandise and many more. A portion of the earnings from the NFT will go to Caleb Cares, a foundation established by Williams to end bullying and raise awareness for mental health.

More about Hall of GOATs’ upcoming game

Hall of GOATs was co-founded by USC’s two-time National champion Greg Carlson, Leinart and Williams. The game is set to be released in early 2024 and can be played by purchasing the players’ avatars. The game will allow fans to play as their favorite players and access unique benefits and experiences.

The game is developed under the guidance of SVP of gaming Brian Graham, who has over 20 years of experience working at Electronic Arts. Carlson said the game would be comparable to Blitz, NFL Street or NBA Street.

“The developmental stage of game building is like a ‘blank sheet of paper.’ You get a chance to find the ‘soul’ of your experience and what will make it unique and worthy of players’ attention and time,” Graham said.

“Joining HALL of GOATS takes me back to an older era of sports games from my arcade days, where we have creative liberty and can build on something that focuses on just being fun.”

So far, HoG has recruited nine college football icons to the game, both past legends and current studs. Along with Williams, they include two-time National Champion LenDale White, 2005 National Champion Vince Young, 1999 Heisman Trophy winner Ron Dayne, Kansas State running back Deuce Vaughn and Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy. Leinart will also feature in the game, with plans to add more players later.

Helping athletes to succeed with NIL, NFT

Hall of GOATs aims to help athletes capitalize on their NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) rights, encouraging them to create their own avatars and control their own brands.

According to Leinart and Williams, the NFT platform will be able to increase athletes’ NIL value.

“There is a new generation of athletes today that has the power and ownership potential of their future on and off the field,” Leinart said back in May.

Williams also said that he had been trying to get into the NFT market for some time before joining Hall of GOATs. He had always wanted to help his teammates and other athletes achieve long-term success with NIL and NFT.

“NIL is a chance to really explore my different interests off the field while building my personal brand the right way,” Williams said.

“Everything I’ve done so far in NIL has been focused on being authentic to my own personality and story — I’m not shying away from being different and hopefully that helps other athletes reimagine what they can do in this space.”
